Title: ACMCU Mourns the Loss of Imam Warith Deen Mohammed

Inna Lillah wa inna ilayhi raji’oun
(To Allah we belong and to him we will return.)
Imam Warith Deen Mohammed Mohammed has passed on today. May God bless him without measure for his vital contributions, and enable his legacy to live on. He showed millions of people to Islam who had no way before of even knowing who or what God was. He was the leader of the single largest community of Muslims in America, with roots here stretching far back. He never wavered from his mission of conveying measured insights about the goodness of the world and of every human being in it, regardless of race, religion, or social-economic station, encouraging the elevation of the consciousness and the soul — for this world and the next. This month of Ramadan is quite a month for this reminder. For in this month, Muslims fast only so that their souls, their whole selves “might (learn) God-conciousness,” in the words of the Qur’an. Here we have a further reminder. Also as the Qur’an says: To God we belong and to Him is our return.
