Bhuian Md. Monoar Kabir, Ph.D is a professor of Political Science in the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. He is presently working on Islamic Political Forces in Bangladesh in Domestic and Global Contexts. His areas of interests include, among others, Politics and security of Developing Countries with special emphasis on South Asia, Islamic Politics in Bangladesh, and Civil-Military Relations and Democratization. In addition to his two books, titled, Politics and Development of the Jammat-e-Islami Bangladesh (New Delhi, 2006), and Politics of Military Rule and the Dilemmas of Democratization in Bangladedsh (New Delhi, 1998), Dr. Kabir has also published a good number of ariticles and chapters. Dr. Kabir was a Visiting Researcher in the ACMCU in 2011. He was also a Visiting Fellow in the CMCU in 2005 as a Senior Fulbright Scholar. He earned his Ph.D and M.A degrees in Political Science from the University of Arizona (Tucson) and Master of Social Sciences (M.S.S) and Bachelor of Social Sciences (B.S.S) degrees in Political Science from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
