House of Lords Roundtable on The Future of Democracy in the MENA Region

On the 21st of February, 2017 Forward Thinking and Global South convened a roundtable discussion with Professor John Esposito on “The Future of Democracy in the MENA Region.” The meeting took place in the House of Lords and was hosted by the Lord Alderdice. It brought together a diverse range of individuals with expertise on the Middle East and North Africa to debate the long-term trends and structural challenges confronting the region; the current outlook for democratic reforms; and the implications of the Trump administration for regional and international stability.
