Zhang Jin is a visiting researcher at the Alwaleed Center for Muslim-Christian Understanding at the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. He is also undertaking a Ph.D. program of Area and Country Studies in Peking University of China. His research is about the Islamist movement of Sudan.

Zhang Jin finished his MA in Beijing Foreign Studies University, majoring in Arabic Language and Literature. He was also awarded a master’s degree from Khartoum International Institute of Arabic Language.
